EU officials are apparently finding it difficult to stay engaged in the process as US representatives assume control.

He allegedly spoke with Kyiv’s leader and Nato representatives, stating that “Ukraine’s destiny must be determined by Ukrainians, and while European security matters are for Europe to resolve.”

Meanwhile, the France’s president, the French official, warned against a settlement that would represent a “concession” for Ukraine.

“The current proposal indicates what Moscow might find acceptable. But does this imply it should be endorsed by Ukraine and Europe? Absolutely not,” he declared.

The US proposal was originally composed of numerous clauses and was drawn from dialog between US and Moscow representatives, with input from Kyiv defense officials.
