Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
