Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

Details of the Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
