Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The influential industry figure passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, as reported by.
